Michael Onghai, CFA, Founder, AppAddictive

In addition to founding and developing his new venture, AppAddictive, Mike is currently a principal and portfolio manager for a value-oriented, long-term, concentrated hedge fund focused on Asian companies, where he specializes in online businesses, spin-offs, post-bankruptcies, and tender offers.

Mike’s previous accomplishments include founding StockSheet and later selling it to Regent Group, a publicly held company, and co-founding 123Jump, for which he helped raise $15 million and acquire Ticker Magazine. In the mid-1990s, Mike was “Employee #3” at GeoCities, and worked closely with its two co-founders; in 1998 GeoCities was sold to Yahoo for $5 billion. Prior to GeoCities, Mike was a business analyst at the Capital Group, a $1 trillion money management firm in Los Angeles, CA.

Mike graduated with a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from UCLA.
